Featuring warm-ups, exercises, and performance-quality games, this is an outstanding opportunity to “work on your short game,” exercise those comedy muscles, and have a great time in the process. Writing Through Improvisation I

This class will use a number of scene-and game-based improvisation exercises to help you identify the importance of strong openings, and quickly recognizing the focus of your scenes. Learn how much improvisation goes into the writing process and the tips and tools to make your scenes great!
Building Characters I

In this session, you will learn a number of improvisation-based exercises to begin the development of characters. These techniques will help in your scenes, written work, and improv games. Start building your character “storehouse” with the tips and tools demonstrated in class.
Spacework

Practice techniques and learn exercises to strengthen your spacework. Well-defined spacework can breathe additional life into improvised and scripted pieces, helping to create specific locations, environments, and any “prop” your scene needs!

Improvising songs and musical pieces is a sure-fire crowd pleaser. In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of rhyme-and music-based improvisation. You’ll see that improvising songs onstage is impressive looking, but not nearly as difficult as it appears.

Level III - Improv PhD (Six-Week Course)
This class provides students the opportunity to explore advanced improvised scenes, building on the high energy of the ensemble cast to put forth something truly unique and impressive while receiving valuable performance and presentation coaching from Ad-Libs’ staff of experienced actors, directors, and comedians.
